Recognition is important. The Cub Scouting advancement plan provides fun for the youth, gives them a sense of personal achievement as they earn badges, and strengthens family understanding as adult family members work with youth on advancement projects.
After achieving their Bobcat rank, Cub Scouts complete a series of Adventures to earn each new rank.
The first rank that everyone must earn when entering the Cub Scouting Program is the Bobcat rank.
Every new scout learns:
The Tiger program is for first-grade (or age 6) children and their adult partners.
Tiger Adventures introduce scouts to:
The Wolf program is for children who have completed first grade (or are age 7).
Wolf Adventures introduce scouts to:
The Bear rank is for children who have completed second grade (or are age 8).
Bear Adventures require scouts to:
The Webelos program is for children who have completed third grade (or are age 9).
Webelos scouts begin working on their Webelos badge as soon as they join a Webelos den. This is the first step in their transition to Scouts. After earning their Webelos badge, scouts will work toward their Arrow of Light rank.

Upon receiving their Arrow of Light awards, scouts bridge to Scouts, where their scouting adventures continue!
